Lucy's Birthday

On Saturday, the 19th, we celebrated Lucy's birthday at the beach with friends and family. One of my crafty mama friends, Nicole, made Lucy this wonderful birthday crown. She loves the crown, especially the diamonds on it (think Lucy in the sky with diamonds), but she does not like wearing it. She is much happer carrying it around and chewing on the diamonds.

Here are the party flags I made. They turned out pretty nice! Next step is to hang them up somewhere in our condo so we can always see them. We have a lot of open wall space in the livingroom, so that is probably where they will go once I get around to it.

Fun in the sun eating, chatting and swimming. It rained around 7pm so we left in a hurry. We wanted to leave around then anyway, the rain just pushed us along a little sooner.

On Sunday (her actual birthdate), we spaced out opening the gifts. She received so many wonderful things from family and friends!

Here is a card from Nana and Pop Pop with a check for her bank account. :-)

Here is some wooden fruit, bread and veggies that are held together with velcro and can be cut with the little wooden knife on the cutting board. Thank you to Larysa, Felix and Robert for this and the pop up fairy book.

Lucy's first handmade teddy.

Here is the finished dolly. She always takes the hat off, so it rarely looks like this.

Here is the lovely bassinet Mallie and Oakley gave to Lucy. It has a little heart carved out of the headboard and it rocks (see video below for it in action!).
Toting the cutting board and the birthday crown.
Yum yum, tasty apple!
New bike helmet from Opa. It is still a little big, but I don't think they make them any smaller. Can't wait to get her out on the bike!
A set of natural wooden building blocks from Mike, Moriah, Evangeline and Abby. She carries them around everywhere!
To finish the day we gave Lucy some raw Key Lime pudding (should be pie, but I didn't make the crust).
She was so nice to share with Papa!

I just realized I didn't take pictures of the gifts from Grandma, Grandpa and Jessie (bath toys and a bath toy holder, very cute clothes, a wooden stacker/counting toy, and sippy cups) or from Oma (my mom sent German books, cute clothes, another toothbrush, some utensils, and some other cool stuff). Thank you everyone for spending time with us of you could and for the gifts!

What a wonderful first birthday!
