Although I loved having a homebirth, there are some things I wish my midwife would have told me:
- The doppler used to listen to a baby's heartbeat is more harmful than an ultrasound
- How to get the insurance to pay
- When to get into the water (this would have lessened the pain of the contractions and I really wanted to have a water birth, instead Lucy was born on the couch)
- There are alternatives to having antibiotics (the antibiotics gave me a nasty rash that lasted a couple of weeks and now that I have read more about antibiotics, I will avoid them at all costs)
- I wish I would have had more guidance on eating right, using homeopathic remedies, etc during pregnancy
I guess the good thing is that I will be better prepared for the next one (once I convince Jason that we should do it again).
And now, on to the good stuff!
Here is our little angel walking while holding on to a plastic cup

Taking a little break

So she started walking a lot on Sunday, and also had some run ins with the kitchen wall and the coffee table. Check out her nose. :-( Poor baby!
