It has probably taken me longer than it should have to realize just how valuable it is to be patient and understanding. I remind myself of that whenever I start to get frustrated with Lucy. I take a deep breath to gather myself and continue to be patient, understanding and loving. Now I need to make sure I do that with Jason, too. I have been very short with him recently because I am sleep deprived and it is a tough job to take care of Lucy, home and still find time for myself in there. Things can only get better as we find our niche and get used to living as a happy family of four (we can't forget the poodle, who, by the way, is finally get groomed tomorrow!!).
In my browsing today I came across a link for a contest to win a free Mei Tai baby carrier :-) http://www.uppymemama.com/Win-A-Free-Mei-Tai-Baby-Carrier.html. For those baby carrier addicts like me, this is a solid find (Thanks Tanya for bringing it to my attention!). I currently have a pouch that my sister made, a ring sling from eBay, two wraps (one made of bamboo, one of Rayon and spandex), one gauze wrap on the way and am working on getting the materials together to make a customized mei tai. Crazy? Nah, they each have their own purpose and they are different colors and plus, I need extras for when they get peed on ;-)
One last cute tidbit about Lucy for this entry: I heard some cute baby noises while I was in the living room so I thought she had awoken from her nap. I go in to find her cover next to her head and she was sucking on it with her eyes closed. I was going to nurse her before she took her nap, but she passed out while I was putting the groceries away and didn't even wake up when I laid her down and took off her diaper. If I had waited any longer she probably would have started crying. What a little angel! Now she is in her activity center kicking around and chatting. Gotta love her!
